It comes as Putin confirms he is preparing to send 150,000 troops to Syria in a bid to crush the evil Islamic State.
David Cameron has claimed that Russia’s military campaign in war-torn Syria is supporting the “butcher” President Bashar Assad rather than simply smashing ISIS.But deadly Su-34, Su-24M and Su-25 aircraft have been swooping in for the kill on nine ISIS facilities, according to the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Defence (MoD).Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists today that Russia’s operations in Syria were aimed at supporting the Syrian army AND targeting terrorists and extremists there.
He said: “The aim of our operations lies in providing support to the Syrian military’s offensive in their struggle with terrorist and radical organisations and forces.”
The Russian MoD says nine ISIS bases were targeted.
This includes a command centre near Al-Rastan which was completely destroyed.A training camp of ISIS terrorists near Jisr al-Shughur was also said to have been pummelled along with ammunition dumps and a fleet of terrorist vehicles.
Six air strikes in the forest area near Idlib also took out a hidden terrorist base, Russian military bosses claim.
