America Needs a Change of Heart, Forgiveness Begins at the Cross

There’s a lot in stake with this presidential race.  We’re seeing it all playout.  And yes, we have seen and heard it all! It’s been deplorable on both sides.  But this is what we have allowed in America! Moral standards are decreasing, and crime is increasing.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My  face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land.

What has this presidential race shown us, that it is going to take more than a man to “Make America Great Again”  It’s going to take a change of hearts. It’s going to take someone that’s humble enough to admit their mistakes.  It’s going to take some soul searching.  But above it all, it’s going to take one great man, and that man is God!

We see man’s errors, we see that man are human and yes, sometimes they fall.  Man aren’t perfect, we can never put a man above God, or he will fall.  But again, this is part of being human.  Thank God that we have a savior that gave up his life for our sins.  And may we all forget and move on.  We saw King David that lusted for another man’s wife, and even put him on the front line so he would die, so he could have his way with her.  But God forgave David, and even said, he is a man after my own heart.  What did we learn from David’s sins.  That when we do sin, seek God’s forgiveness and move on with praise and thankfulness that God shows mercy even when we don’t deserve it!

I believe just like King David, Trump has faults and weakness like most men.  He’s human.  We also know through faith David brought down a giant when everyone else was afraid.  We don’t know why God picked David, we can only guess.  And like David, if God picked Trump nothing will stop him from being elevated when God chooses a man.  When America needed a voice, Trump spoke up!  When he said, I can bring the giant down, he got our attention. We listened. We believed. We followed.  Now isn’t the time to turn the page back after we’ve come so far, but keep pressing forward, knowing the real prize is ahead.

And with this said.  I believe if you are a republican, stop being stiff necked. You knew he was no saint. But he spoke out of bravery when Americans were afraid.

Philippians 3:13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Ephesians 2:1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

We can still find forgiveness at the cross!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

2 Corinthians 2:10 Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,

Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in
heaven may forgive you your sins. ”
